DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival - South Africa’s premier lifestyle event - will return to Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on the 21st and 22nd September 2019. DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival first took the entertainment and culinary world by storm on its debut in Johannesburg in October 2013. Headlining the music was Jamiroquai supported by a host of top South African artists. UK celebrity chefs Aldo Zilli, Ed Baines, and John Burton Race displayed their signature dishes at their own pop-up restaurants.
In May 2014 the DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival returned to Johannesburg, with UK TV chef Rachel Khoo joining her South African counterparts Jenny Morris and Siba Mtongana. Top international acts included jazz-funk pioneers the Brand New Heavies, club favourites Soul II Soul and acid jazz supremos Incognito.
Brand New Heavies and Soul II Soul were back in South Africa in December 2014 when the festival premiered in Cape Town. They were joined on the Cape Town stage by award-winning South African acts Freshlyground, MiCasa and The Soil along with modern folk artist Jeremy Loops. MasterChef SA judge Pete Goffe-Wood and acclaimed chef Garth Stroebel tantalised visitors’ taste buds.
Queen of funk Chaka Khan, global dance legend Louie Vega, Drizabone and Shakatak were the headline acts in June 2015, playing to a capacity crowd of 20 000 people in Johannesburg. This event also featured Johannesburg’s biggest gourmet food market. MasterChef SA Judge Pete Goffe-Wood hosted the popular Delicious pop up restaurant. Food Network celebrity chefs Reza Mahammad, Siba Mtongana and Jenny Morris hosted live food demonstrations and exciting cook offs at the Food Network Pavilion.
The DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival, – the music festival for food lovers and the food festival for music lovers – returned for it’s 4th year in Johannesburg on Saturday 8 October and Sunday 9 October 2016. The festival organisers delivered mouth-watering finds in food, street-chefs and delectable trends as well as a music line-up of world-class entertainment and local acts. A line-up that included The Jacksons, Macy Gray, De La Soul, Arrested Development, Elements of Life, Roy Ayers and local food celebrities Reuben Riffel, Sarah Graham, J’Something and Callie-Anne.
The last three iterations of the event were held at the prestigious Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit whereby 40 000 visitors over the two-day festival could indulge in the best food and music Johannesburg has to offer. DStv Delicious Internationa Food and Music Festival has hosted some of the biggest names from both the culinary and music worlds such as MasterChef SA Judge Pete Goffe-Wood, chefs Reza Mahammad, Siba Mtongana, and Jenny Morris. Music legends have included Common, TKZee, Hugh Masekela, Incognito, Lira, Thandiswa Mazwai, Black Coffee, Louie Vega, Jordan Rakei, and Erykah Badu to name but a handful. The festival will return to the venue as it celebrates 7 years of excellence and growth. ticket holders can expect pop-up stalls and food trucks with sumptuous, freshly prepared food and dessert, acclaimed music and food talent across three different stages, 10 hours of entertainment per event day, a variety of beverages to suit any palette and diet, and so much more!
